If you are a beginner to gaming but would like to get into it, there are a few things you should know. One of them is which gaming consoles are the best, and how much you can expect to pay for them. Another concern is how well the graphics are compared to a PC game, as well as fluidity of play. This may seem a little complex, but it is really about how well you can play a game, and how good it's going to be.

The three top gaming systems today are: Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and Nintendo Wii. There are also the versions that are hand held too and the top ones are the Nintendo DS and the Playstation Portable. All of the gaming systems can run at least over $100 and some cost quite a bit more than that new.

Nintendo throughout its history has been an innovative company thinking outside the box, and their Wii is a prime example of this thinking. This game console is designed for group and family enjoyment even though there are some games for single players too. People get started playing by using the sensor controllers and the Wii paddle, they can exercise with the controllers or even swing their arms for the golf simulator.

This gaming is for you and of course your family if you're not looking for graphics that are highly realistic, and you are looking for some activity while you play. This system sells for about $250, and has some nice accessories that can be bought for an additional price, such things as the steering wheel, or maybe you need the exercise mat more, many other things too.

X-Box360 has many features that gamers are looking for. It has excellent graphics, controllers that are better fitting for the hands than earlier models, and have interactive internet capabilities. You can learn how to download Xbox360 games, with a patch that is easily downloaded to the unit itself, or with a patch CD. The availability of games are better, and it has better internet capabilities.

There are two other versions offered, Arcade, which does not have any memory and cannot play older X-Box games. You also have the 360 Elite, which jacks up the hard drive from 60GB to 120GBs, double the standard model. The prices range from $200-$400, depending on what system you buy. It is recommended that you at least pick up the standard 60GB hard drive model.

The Playstation 3 is known to be a very versatile gaming system, it can handle many of the games for Playstation 1 and 2, it is a Blu-ray disc player, has the Linux technology, comes with Wi-Fi built in, and can act as a computer too. This all makes up for its short comings in the online gaming and lack of the game titles that are so popular today. The prices for this start at about $400, but this is fine for the people who don't own a Blu-ray player or a computer.

You can find all of these gaming platforms online and at many electronics retailers. If you are not familiar with gaming platforms, you can find much more detailed information online; each company has their own website. If you do visit a local retailer, they can also answer many questions and help you find the right one for you. - 29852
