Earn Nathrezim Gold In WoW's Auction Houses

By Mikey Kovnic

Earning Nathrezim gold in World of Warcraft is one of the most important feautures of the game as it takes you to higher levels in the game. While earning gold in WoW is done in many different ways, however you do need to learn ways to earn gold as quickly as possible. WoW guide gives good tips to earn gold and there are many internet resources that help you in teaching shortcuts to earn gold.

Gold can be earned by going on a quest, getting the loot and selling it or by adopting a profession and crafting an item over and over again, after which gold can be gained by selling the crafted items. So in the end, everything comes to selling the items to get gold. It is an art to be properly able to sell items for high prices at auction houses. For this you need to know in detail what auction houses are and how they work.

Auction houses are the main and central points for buying and selling. Even players can buy and sell to players in other cities and areas using the neutral auction houses. To sell an item, contact the auctioneer at an auction house and list the item and buying and selling price of an item.

You must take into consideration the factors that will determine the price of your item. First is demand i.e. how much the other players need that item, then is the rarity of the item.

What you can do is start observing which things are sold the most and which things are in demand. You can also see the prices at which they are sold so that you are aware which thing is sold for most at the auctions. This way you can also decide which profession you would like to adopt as it should be the one that pays the most.

Once you have decided which item to sell, don't jump in immediately to place it as a selling item. Look at the suggested pricing that the auction house is giving you but do not succumb to their suggestions because most of the auction houses do not show the true price of an item. Try a price of your choice. If your item is not sold in more than one auction house, it might be time to lower the price.

Always keep a buy-out price in mind. Try not to over-exceed the buy-out price or your item will not sell. Desperate players usually buy a much needed item at a ridiculous price but not all. Most will move on to other auction houses looking for the item and will ignore your item.

You can also buy some items that are present at low prices at the auction house and resell them at the right time or place. Enchanting the items before selling will also increase the price of the items. You can get more Nathrezim gold for them then plain items. Getting Nathrezim gold might be a hard task if you are beginner but as you get to higher levels you will master the art of selling items the correct way at the auction houses and will be able to earn more gold than the other players of the game. - 29852

Accelerated Online Degrees Studied - Hit Or Miss?

By John B Maxted

At the moment there are countless different accelerated education programs that you will be able to choose between when you're ready to get back to school. It's important to understand what accelerated programs really are and what they really offer to help make your decision.

There are both advantages and disadvantages to pursuing accelerated bachelors degree programs. It's important to be able to evaluate these accelerated programs so that you know what to expect and so that you can figure out if they are really a good match for you.

An accelerated program is simply a degree program with a quicker pace. The typical Bachelors degree takes 4 years for completion. However, with an accelerated degree you can finish all of the same coursework in just 2 years, and in many cases even less than that.

So with an accelerated program you can cut your time by more than half. That means that you're that much closer to getting that new job or starting that new career. For people who are anxious to get moving towards career advancement and job fulfillment, an accelerated option is therefore a great idea.

The majority of accelerated degrees will be taught through an online format. With an online education, you study from your home, listen to class lectures through your computer and complete all of your work online. This dynamic setting also provides many different unique advantages that you should be aware of.

Therefore an accelerated degree provides the same advantages as well. For example with an online program you don't have to worry about commuting or living near the school of your choice. You can study from any school throughout the world while never leaving the comfort of your home. You can take your classes and complete your work at any time of the day or week, ensuring you can maintain your current schedule instead of having to quit or alter your job, or put aside your other responsibilities.

Even with all of these advantages, not everyone is interested in online programs. This is because many people feed off of the on-campus environment and they need that for their education. Many other people need the in-person classroom and rigid attendance guidelines in order to make sure that they complete their assignments and actively learn.

Another possible disadvantage of an accelerated degree is that some people can't move from one topic to the next so quickly. Additionally, some people can't handle the constant heavy course load. To complete a full degree program in less than two years requires you to stay busy with many classes at once, and classes all throughout the year without long breaks. If this isn't appealing to you then you should not pursue an accelerated program.

Most people find that the benefits far outweigh the disadvantages. The possibility to start a completely new degree and finish it in less than two years is just too tantalizing to pass up. If you're ready for a new job or a new career, or you just want to go back to school to finish what you started, then an accelerated degree is your quickest path to success. - 29852

Studying for IT Careers - News

By Jason Kendall

When you decide upon a training program it's crucial that the qualification it leads to falls in line with the needs of industry. As well as this, be sure that the program is a match for you, and is pitched at the right level.

Why not try user skills courses, or take a career track and specialise. Plain speaking courses will set you on the right track to achieve your goals.

Today, there are many user-friendly and accessibly priced options available that will give you everything you need.

Have you recently questioned how safe your job is? For most of us, this isn't an issue until something dramatic happens to shake us. But in today's marketplace, the painful truth is that job security doesn't really exist anymore, for the vast majority of people.

Of course, a marketplace with high growth, where staff are in constant demand (because of a growing shortfall of trained people), provides a market for proper job security.

The most recent United Kingdom e-Skills analysis showed that over 26 percent of all available IT positions cannot be filled due to a huge deficit of trained staff. Quite simply, we can't properly place more than 3 out of every 4 jobs in the computer industry.

Gaining full commercial IT certification is therefore a quick route to succeed in a long-term as well as pleasing livelihood.

Without a doubt, this really is a fabulous time to join Information Technology (IT).

Review the points below in detail if you've been persuaded that that over-used sales technique about examination guarantees seems like a good idea:

Thankfully, today we're a tad more knowledgeable about sales gimmicks - and most of us grasp that it is actually an additional cost to us (it isn't free or out of the goodness of their hearts!)

Students who take exams one at a time, funding them as they go are much better placed to get through first time. They're thoughtful of what they've paid and prepare more appropriately to be ready for the task.

Does it really add up to pay your training college in advance for exam fees? Hold on to your money and pay for the exam when you take the exam, rather than coughing up months or even a year or two in advance - and sit exams more locally - not at somewhere of their bidding.

Buying a course that includes payments for examinations (and if you're financing your study there'll be interest on that) is madness. Resist being talked into filling the training company's account with your money just to give them more interest! Some will be pinning their hopes on the fact that you won't get to do them all - but they won't refund the cash.

Also, you should consider what an 'exam guarantee' really means. The majority of organisations won't pay again for an exam until you can prove to them you're ready to pass.

With average Prometric and VUE exams coming in at approximately 112 pounds in Great Britain, by far the best option is to pay for them as you take them. Not to fork out thousands extra in up-front costs. Study, commitment and preparing with good quality mock and practice exams is what will really guarantee success.

Authorised exam preparation and simulation materials are a must - and really must be offered by your training supplier.

Avoid depending on unauthorised exam preparation systems. The type of questions asked is sometimes startlingly different - and sometimes this can be a real headache when the proper exam time arrives.

Be sure to have some simulated exam questions that will allow you to check your comprehension at all times. Simulations of exams add to your knowledge bank - then you won't be quite so nervous at the actual exam.

Sometimes students presume that the state educational track is the right way even now. So why then are commercial certificates becoming more in demand?

Vendor-based training (to use industry-speak) is far more effective and specialised. The IT sector is aware that this level of specialised understanding is what's needed to meet the requirements of a technologically complex marketplace. Adobe, Microsoft, CISCO and CompTIA are the big boys in this field.

Patently, an appropriate amount of background knowledge has to be learned, but focused specialised knowledge in the exact job role gives a vendor trained student a massive advantage.

Imagine if you were an employer - and you needed to take on someone with a very particular skill-set. Which is the most straightforward: Go through loads of academic qualifications from several applicants, trying to establish what they know and what vocational skills have been attained, or choose particular accreditations that perfectly fit your needs, and draw up from that who you want to speak to. The interview is then more about the person and how they'll fit in - instead of long discussions on technical suitability. - 29852

Considering Whether I Should Study IT

By Jason Kendall

Am I professing that IT training and careers within IT are the be-all and end-all of futures on this planet? God forbid, no. Where would we all be without the highly paid football stars who entertain us so well on a week by week basis? But there has to be a reason why increasing numbers of people are studying for careers within the IT industry.

An interesting development has been the increase in IT training for those people who are seeking a career change or an enhancement to their existing skill sets. In reviewing this, I'm curious as to why IT continues to offer the attraction, and is this option really viable?

Whilst we all acknowledge that in relationships, key elements and people themselves can change. At the age of 10, a boyfriend or girlfriend can be considered a cute thing, but it isn't expected to last. At the age of 18-20, relationships are often less transient, but they also have a shorter lifespan than others later in life.

Equally we ask our young people to plan and make decisions as to their working career fairly early on in life, and yet historically there seems to be an inherent resistance to change as times goes on. If we accept that life changes, and we also accept that circumstances also change, then isn't it prudent for us to accept that career paths should and could change?

Modern society continually relies on IT, and IT related factors. Based on simple economics of supply and demand, this leads many people to assume that a career in this field would be reliable and well paid. Many people see a direct transfer of how they use IT systems socially (such as social interaction on the internet e.g. facebook and playing games etc.) into a career. What factors would actually lead towards a successful career, and is this a genuine realism of a career within IT?

I would suggest that a key element in answering this is acknowledging that a career in IT is as dependent on factors such as an employer (or client base if self-employed,) and economic circumstances, as any other career path. There is, however considerable evidence to show that professional IT personnel can move between employers and industry sectors more freely, due to the great dependence on IT services across both geographic and industry models.

One of the key elements is the term 'Professional IT People' - just as in any other industry, employers have consistently sought human resources where the skills can be proven by both experience and an approved benchmark. This applies whether that is a degree, or recognised apprenticeship culminating in an industry standard qualification, such as electrician and plumber.

The IT industry is just the same. Many people have access to a computer at home, and can experience several factors of the IT industry in a refined environment. Yet this is in many cases vastly different from the skills and resources required in the commercial sector. We'd all agree, I'm sure, that spending four hours a night surfing the internet or playing games doesn't make us a qualified webmaster or a qualified games designer.

Professional qualifications within the IT field such as MCSE or MCSA are immediately recognisable as an industry standard. Employers can rely upon the skills offered, and as such there is a reduced risk of breach of commercial insurance policies for work and services provided by such people, whether they are self-employed or directly employed.

If you're seriously considering a future within the IT industry, you must look at how best to position yourself to become attractive to an employer. Holding a professional qualification goes a long way towards this. We should at least be aware of what the employer or client is looking for in recruitment or engagement, as they are the ones paying the salary.

We have plenty of data in existence to support the view that the IT sector growth is faster and more resilient than many other industry sectors. We're seeing a transitional shift in industry sectors, from the first world over to the third world. Many growing or 'tiger' economies are adapting to (and embracing) long standing IT systems at a very fast rate indeed.

Within this article so far we've considered the trends, which along with the demise of traditional industry and therefore traditional expectancies of a job-for-life, there will be a growing propensity towards multiple jobs and career paths throughout our working life.

In addition, we've observed that as the IT industry provides both consistencies in supply and demand across industry sectors and across geographical boundaries, it remains consistently attractive. Current forecasts also predict the increasing reliance on both IT systems overall, and the professional people who develop, use and maintain those systems, as they remain integral to many organisations requirements long-term.

Expectations for salaries continue to be high within this field, and plenty of evidence suggests that this is achievable. However, it is worth noting that the top-people get paid the top-money in many other industries. It's not good enough to simply 'be there' and does not guarantee the top-money.

We've also argued the case that employers view recruitment for IT skills as no different to any other facet of their business. They expect the individuals to formally demonstrate their skills and qualifications, in exactly the same way as they expect their accountants and electricians to be professionally qualified to do the work they're employed to do.

It's my belief that there is considerable evidence to view a career in IT as a strong and viable option for many people in today's economic and social climate. Significant salaries are definitely achievable. And yet, it's equally clear and only common sense to expect to have to gain a recognisable professional IT qualification. This not only clearly demonstrate one's own ability, but at the very least it displays the attitude that your prospective employer can rely on you in the commercial field and that you are serious about this career path. - 29852

Choosing the Right Alliance Race For You!

By Mike Miller

So you've decided that you want to play Alliance. Now your next choice is going to be what race you are interested in playing. You are going to be looking at your character a lot if you decide to level it to eighty, so you should definitely pick something that is fun for you! However, it is also important to look at the racial bonuses when you are looking to get a character that is going to have a bit of an edge!

Humans

The advantages that Humans have is that they are going to have increased spirit and they will also have an +5 to their sword and mace skill. With the increased spirit, you will discover that rolling up a priest is a natural choice. If you are a class that is going to specialize in sword or mace, the +5 to the skills can be attractive. Humans also have increased stealth detection, but this does not come up as often as you might think.

Gnomes

Not only are Gnomes built smaller and are harder to hit, they can also get away from speed altering effects with their escape artist trait. This trait also allows a Gnome to cut back on the damage that is coming his way, and the +5 intelligence is perfect for mages or warlocks, as is the increased arcane resistance. When you are looking at professions, Gnomes get a +5 to engineering, which can be quite helpful.

Dwarves

Dwarves are the only race besides Humans on the Alliance who can also be paladins, but it is also important to remember that they are at a bit of a loss when it comes to agility. They have a stone form that can bulk up defenses, which is good if you want to play a priest. Dwarf hunters ha a +5 gun skill, and frost resistance can come in handy in PVE. Treasure finding is another dwarf bonus.

Night Elves

When you are looking around your server, you might find that there are many Night Elf hunters and rogues, and there is a very good reason for that. The dodge bonus that Night Elves get can keep you from getting hit in the first place, something that is essential for rogues and hunters. Night Elves also have a resistance to nature damage and they also have access to Shadow Meld, which drops their threat and can make surviving solo a lot easier.

Draenei

The newest Alliance race has a lot to offer. Gift of the Naaru gives the entire race the ability to heal, and because it can heal yourself or another person, it is quite handy. Draenei have an increased chance to hit, which is great for any class, and they are also resistant to shadow magic. In terms of professions, they also have a +5 to jewelcrafting.

When you are thinking about moving forward and making sure that you can roll up a great character, check out a good Alliance leveling guide to help you make your choice! - 29852

Wii DVD Homebrew Installer

By Bill Ward

Wii console is labelled to be one of the popular multimedia consoles around the world. It doesn't just have capacity that allows people to watch DVD movies on it. But as technology evolves, people with technical skills were able to come up with an idea to invent Homebrew Installer software that makes everyone able to watch DVD movies. This software explores the other features of your gaming console; making it even more entertaining. You simply download Wii Homebrew from the Internet for a considerable price.

In most cases, when you put some additional features on your console you will need a mod chip or hardware in order to get it working, however, the downside of this is that the mod chip voided any warranty that may have been still valid. Fortunately, the Homebrew Installer software has been developed in order to solve the problem. This time, you don't need a mod chip or hardware anymore and this would mean that your warranty will absolutely remain intact.

There is not that much steps to be done in the process of adding this new feature. The first thing that you should do is install the Homebrew channel on your Wii and then you need to install a small application called Mplayer which will allow your Wii to act like a normal DVD player. Positive Focus Vs Negative Focus

By Jason Kendall

Look in any bookshop at their Best Seller list today, and you'll see a mass of autobiographies of the rich and famous. From empire builders to glamour models to footballers, they all tell a different story, but each has a thread in common - they focused on the positives and overcame adversity.

That is the way of the world; to achieve in life we must allow positive reasons why 'we can' to flood our consciousness, and drown out negative reasons why we can't.

For the trainee, this attitude to studying is vital. To complete a training program successfully, the biggest tool in a student's workbox is a positive mindset. An optimistic outlook brings about all sorts of circumstances, possibilities, answers and opportunities to achieve. On the other hand, a negative outlook blocks creativity and numbs our learning receptors.

This is down to our Reticular Activation System - an automatic mechanism in our brain that tells us what to focus on. Throughout our lives, we've experienced many things that no longer stay in the forefront of our minds - the bulk of what we've learned moves from our conscious mind to our sub-conscious mind, a kind of store cupboard stocked up with all our past knowledge and beliefs.

When we consciously attempt to do something, our Reticular Activation System (RAS) will search the sub-conscious mind for any relevant information it holds, and bring it to our attention. If we're walking down a street, we're only made aware of things that have meaning to us - the rest is just background noise.

So if our conscious mind has regularly been transferring upbeat, positive messages to our sub-conscious mind, then that's what will come back. But if our sub-conscious has been fed a bunch of downbeat, defeatist messages, then that's equally what will come back.

It appears that achievers can manipulate the messages going through to their sub-conscious minds by deliberately programming their RAS, and selecting the exact messages the conscious mind transfers. For achieving goals this makes it an essential tool, because the sub-conscious mind can't distinguish between real or imaginary events.

In other words, we need to create a very specific picture of our goal in our conscious mind. The RAS will then pass this on to our subconscious - which, as it believes everything it's told, will then help us achieve the goal. It does this by making us aware of all the relevant information which otherwise might have stayed as 'background noise'.

Napoleon Hill once wrote that we can attain any realistic goal if we keep that goal clearly in our mind, and stop allowing any negative thoughts about it. If we keep thinking that we can't achieve a goal, of course, our subconscious will help us not to achieve it. - 29852

How To Complete Your Bachelors Degree In Record Time (Without Cheating)

By John B Maxted

If you're looking for the quickest degree that you can find, then your best bet is to get started with an online accelerated degree provided by online universities. With an accelerated or fast track degree program you can finish your degree in less than 2 years. That means in just 2 years you can be opening up the doors to your new, higher paying and more fulfilling career.

Knowing that an accelerated program from an online university is the quickest degree that you can find, how can you get started with one today? Follow these guidelines and you'll be well on your way to completing this goal and advancing your life.

It all begins with a little investigation of the opportunities that are available. Do not be afraid to look into all of the possibilities regarding online colleges. The number of college level courses being offered is being expanded on an almost daily basis, and you are sure to find some that will interest you.

Check out the different schools and programs until you find those that feature the type of degree that you want. Compare the classes, costs, and requirements of each institution. If you want to earn your degree in the shortest amount of time you will need to concentrate on the universities that offer the accelerated degree programs.

After you research the different options that you have the next step is to apply to the school of your choice. Unlike applying to a traditional university where you have to wait months before you hear back and then wait another few months before you can actually get started, online universities are extremely quick with their admissions and the entire enrolling process. In many cases the entire process will just take a few short weeks, and you'll be well on your way to that degree.

Once you're in the program that you applied for, you must plan out a schedule that will allow you to maximize the accelerated program. Take a full course load and be sure to go after all of your required classes whenever they are available so you don't get stuck waiting for them later.

More Tips on Obtaining the Quickest Degree

* Be sure to transfer over any existing credits that you have. Many adults don't realize that credits do transfer into most online bachelor degree courses, and even credits from a decade before are in most cases still valid.

* Try to sign up for classes every term if you want to earn your degree quickly. Some students will opt for summers off, but this can cost you valuable class time and it means that you will have a longer wait before you have your degree in your hand. The majority of online colleges and universities have their coursework set up on a quarterly basis as opposed to semesters. This really works to your benefit and if you sign up for a full load of courses during each 3 month "quarter" session you will race through those degree requirements.

* Do it now, don't wait for tomorrow or next week. The sooner you get started the sooner you are going to become a college graduate.

The truth of the matter is that a fast track degree or accelerated education program is your quickest way to earn a degree. You have to make the first step and after that it will be smooth sailing. Imagine becoming a college graduate in only 2 short years, or less. Are you really ready to take control of your life and change course toward a brighter tomorrow? - 29852

Comparing the Xbox 360 to All those Other Consoles

By Larry Moon

Gaming console wars have been going on for quite a long time, weather it was Texas Instruments Vs Atari, Nintendo Vs Sega, and Xbox Vs Playstation 2. However a new breed of consoles have started when Microsoft came out with the Xbox 360 taking the next step forward in gaming. This console was said to be a step above anything anyone had seen with the Playstation 2, Nintendo GameCube, or even the regular Xbox.

The Xbox 360 gained all the attention for a year until Sony and Nintendo answered with their own seventh generation consoles which are the Playstation 3 and Wii respectively. This was the time when the console wars really heated up and now gamers are spending more time deciding which console deserves their money savings. It is a tough battle because each console pretty much has their own unique strengths. Here is how the Xbox 360 weights in against the other two consoles.

When comparing the 360 to the Nintendo Wii, there really isn't a comparison. Just take a look at the graphics from each console at your local gaming store and you'll see how far ahead the Xbox 360 is in this department. While this may be true, there are similar titles that can be played on both systems, so you ought to compare the controls.

Everything that revolves around the Nintendo Wii deals with the motion sensors. Companies have been trying to perfect this for years, but could never reach the heights that Wii has come to enjoy. Granted, you may not think about it, but the 360 has both wired and wireless controllers. You will find this extremely important when you play first person shooter games like Call of Duty or other exclusive games.

The Wii has been known to have titles that are geared more for an audience of all ages, while the Xbox 360 has been known to cater a bit more to the older audience. Most every system has a few game makers that cater only to that system, however the Wii is said to have special first-person titles designed strictly for their console to generate a new audience.

While the Wii is on a plateau of its own, the PS3 is the Xbox 360's biggest competitor. Each one of these systems are unbelievable when it comes to the technology used to make the graphics so life-like. If you know someone who owns a Playstation 3, they can enjoy Blu-ray support that Microsoft's console doesn't have in the system. However, many people believe the Xbox 360 video cards are about as comparable to a PC game like World of Warcraft then any other gaming console. It's an ongoing debate by every fan of these consoles around the world.

Many games that concentrate on high definition graphics usually get released on both the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. The Playstation 3 currently has more exclusive franchises, but the Xbox 360 remains on top with more exclusive titles. The best gaming console in terms of the games that they offer depend on the gamer's presence which is why both the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 are making sales. The Xbox 360 still holds more titles that received positive ratings so the Xbox 360 could be the winner here.

However, both systems offer unbelievable game play and depending on what your looking for both consoles will give you a unique gaming experience. At any sense, the Xbox 360 is still a powerful system where you can play loads of great games. - 29852

Finding The Right Microsoft SQL Computer Training - Update

By Jason Kendall

What kind of things might a person searching for Microsoft certified training expect from providers these days? Clearly, training providers should be offering a variety of routes that match the needs of Microsoft certified training tracks.

Perhaps you'd want to be given advice on the sort of careers you might go for once you have passed your exams, and the type of individual those jobs would appeal to. Most students like to get advice on what they might be good at.

When you've settled on the job you'd like to get into, a suitable training program must be selected that's a match for your ability level and skill set. You should expect to be offered a bespoke package for your requirements.

Usually, the typical IT hopeful has no idea where to start with IT, or even which market they should look at getting trained in.

Reading lists of IT career possibilities is next to useless. The majority of us don't even know what our next-door neighbours do at work each day - so what chance do we have in understanding the subtleties of a specific IT job.

Generally, the way to deal with this quandary appropriately lies in an in-depth talk over several areas:

* Personalities play a major part - what gets you 'up and running', and what are the things that really turn you off.

* What is the time-frame for the retraining?

* How highly do you rate salary - is an increase your main motivator, or is enjoying your job a little higher on the priority-scale?

* Often, trainees don't consider the energy involved to get fully certified.

* Taking a good look into the effort, commitment and time you'll make available.

To completely side-step the industry jargon, and uncover the best path to success, have an in-depth discussion with an industry-experienced advisor; a person that appreciates and can explain the commercial realities as well as each accreditation.

Qualifications from the commercial sector are now, very visibly, taking over from the traditional academic paths into the IT industry - why then is this the case?

The IT sector now acknowledges that for an understanding of the relevant skills, official accreditation from companies such as Microsoft, CISCO, Adobe and CompTIA most often has much more specialised relevance - at a far reduced cost both money and time wise.

Academic courses, as a example, often get bogged down in a lot of background study - and a syllabus that's too generalised. Students are then held back from getting enough specific knowledge about the core essentials.

Assuming a company understands what work they need doing, then they just need to look for the particular skill-set required. Syllabuses all have to conform to the same requirements and do not vary between trainers (in the way that degree courses can).

You'll come across courses which guarantee examination passes - this always means you have to pay for the exams when you pay for the rest of your course. Before you jump at guaranteed exams, be aware of the facts:

Everyone knows they're still paying for it - it's quite obvious to see that it's been added into the gross price invoiced by the course provider. It's absolutely not free - don't think these companies are so generous with their money!

Passing first time is everyone's goal. Progressively working through your exams in order and paying as you go puts you in a much stronger position to qualify at the first attempt - you take it seriously and think carefully about the costs.

Hold on to your money and pay for the exam at the time, and avoid college mark-up fees. You also get more choice of where you do your exams - which means you can stay local.

Paying upfront for examination fees (and interest charges if you're borrowing money) is madness. Resist being talked into filling the training company's account with your hard-earned cash simply to help their cash-flow! There are those who hope that you won't get round to taking them - so they don't need to pay for them.

Don't forget, in the majority of cases of 'exam guarantees' - you are not in control of when you are allowed to have another go. They'll only allow a re-take once completely satisfied.

The cost of exams was around the 112 pounds mark twelve months or so ago via UK VUE or Prometric centres. Therefore, why splash out often many hundreds of pounds extra to have 'an Exam Guarantee', when it's no secret that the responsible approach is consistent and systematic learning, coupled with quality exam simulation software.

Any advisor who doesn't question you thoroughly - chances are they're just trying to sell you something. If they're pushing towards a particular product before learning about your history and whether you have any commercial experience, then it's very likely to be the case.

Often, the training start-point for a trainee experienced in some areas can be largely dissimilar to the student with no experience.

If you're a student beginning IT exams and training anew, it's often a good idea to ease in gradually, by working on some basic Microsoft package and Windows skills first. This can be built into most training packages. - 29852

We'd recommend that you should first attempt CCNA. Don't be tempted to go straight for your CCNP as it's a considerable step up - and you'll need the CCNA and experience first to have a go at this.

Routers are linked to networks, therefore it's important to have prior knowledge of the operation of networks, or you will have difficulties with the course and not be able to follow the work. Seek out a program that includes basic networking skills (for example CompTIA) before you get going on CCNA.

If you haven't yet had any experience of routers, then studying up to CCNA is more than enough - at this stage avoid being tempted to do the CCNP. With a few years experience behind you, you can decide if it's relevant for you to have this next level up.

Training support for students is an absolute must - look for a package that provides 24x7 direct access, as anything less will frustrate you and could hamper your progress.

Find a good quality service with proper support available at any time of the day or night (irrespective of whether it's the wee hours on Sunday morning!) You want access directly to professional tutors, and not access to a call-in service which takes messages - so you're parked in a queue of others waiting to be called back during office hours.

The best training colleges tend to use an online round-the-clock system involving many support centres across the globe. You will be provided with an interface which accesses the most appropriate office any time of the day or night: Support when it's needed.

Don't ever make the mistake of taking second best when it comes to your support. Most IT hopefuls who fall by the wayside, are in that situation because of support (or the lack of).

An all too common mistake that we encounter all too often is to choose a career based on a course, rather than starting with the desired end-result. Colleges are brimming over with direction-less students who chose a course based on what sounded good - in place of something that could gain them an enjoyable career or job.

Students often train for a single year but end up doing a job for a lifetime. Avoid the mistake of finding what seems like a program of interest to you only to spend 20 years doing a job you don't like!

Stay focused on where you want to get to, and then build your training requirements around that - avoid getting them back-to-front. Stay on target - making sure you're training for an end-result that will keep you happy for many years.

Sense dictates that you seek advice from an industry professional before you begin some particular learning path, so you can be sure that the chosen route will give you the skills for the job being sought.

Students who consider this area of study often have a very practical outlook on work, and won't enjoy sitting at a desk in class, and endless reading of dry academic textbooks. If this is putting you off studying, try the newer style of interactive study, where learning is video-based.

Research into the way we learn shows that memory is aided when we involve as many senses as possible, and we get physically involved with the study process.

Find a course where you're provided with an array of CD and DVD based materials - you'll start with videos of instructor demonstrations, and be able to practice your skills in interactive lab's.

All companies should willingly take you through a few examples of the materials provided for study. You should hope for instructor-led videos and a wide selection of interactive elements.

It's usually bad advice to choose training that is only available online. With highly variable reliability and quality from the ISP (internet service provider) market, it makes sense to have disc based courseware (On CD or DVD).

Does job security really exist anymore? In a marketplace like the UK, where business constantly changes its mind on a day-to-day basis, it seems increasingly unlikely.

Where there are escalating skills shortfalls mixed with high demand areas of course, we can hit upon a fresh type of security in the marketplace; where, fuelled by the conditions of constant growth, companies find it hard to locate enough staff.

The 2006 UK e-Skills survey highlighted that twenty six percent of IT jobs are unfilled mainly due to a chronic shortage of properly qualified workers. Quite simply, we can't properly place more than 3 out of each four job positions in the computing industry.

Attaining full commercial computing qualification is as a result an effective route to achieve a long-lasting and enjoyable livelihood.

In actuality, acquiring professional IT skills during the next few years is likely the best career move you'll ever make. - 29852

The Best MMORPGs Ever

By Eric McCormick

Some of the best roleplaying games for the PC over the last few years have come in the form of the MMORPG, massive multiplayer online roleplaying games. These games come in both a pay-to-play format and free format. Some of the best pay-to-play MMORPGs that are currently available online are listed below.

World of Warcraft - This game was created with the hope to topple the reigning online RPG at the time, Everquest. World of Warcraft has done that and so much more. Its subscribers currently number well over ten million and show absolutely no signs of slowing down. The game continues to be the number one MMORPG on the market.

Lord of the Rings Online - Primarily a PvE-based game, Lord of the Rings Online has incredible mainstream appeal and is doing very well in the industry. It has garned very high reviews from many professional gaming reviewers. The game is targeted to the more casual gamer market.

Eve Online - This game is played on one "shard" or game server. Everyone that plays Eve Online exists in the same world together. It is known as one of the biggest time sinks of all the MMORPGs. It takes an incredible amount of time to be competitive and join the game world, but it also has one of the most storied histories in the industry.

Final Fantasy XI - The flagship MMORPG of the Final Fantasy series. FFXI is an extremely group based online game that has been around for several years now. Although the subscriber base has stopped growing as it once did, it still has a solid following in both Japan and the United States. The game has released multiple successful expansions and is still doing quite well.

Warhammer Online - The most PvP-focused game to make this list. Warhammer Online was billed as the "WoW killer" when it was released. Although it didn't quite live up to this moniker, Warhammer Online still has a solid following and is enjoying a large amount of success in the game world.

City of Heroes / City of Villains - This game has both the best, and the worst, of the superhero roleplaying genre. The original game, City of Heroes, was massively successful upon release. It spawned the follow-up game, City of Villains, which is both an expansion and another game in its own right. Currently, it is the biggest superhero MMORPG on the market.

There are many other great pay-to-play MMORPGs available online. Some of these additional games include, Everquest 1, Everquest 2, Dark Age of Camelot, Age of Conan, Lineage 2, Anarchy Online, Asheron's Call, and many more. Some of these are older games, and some are quite new. But many more great MMORPGs are on the horizon. Especially look for Star Wars: The Old Republic coming in 2010. - 29852

Careers Training for CompTIA A Plus Compared

By Jason Kendall

Four specialist training areas feature in the overall A+ programme, of which 2 passes are needed for competency in A+. Be aware though that restricting yourself to two of the four specialities could leave gaps in your knowledge. Look for training that covers all the specialist areas - you'll be glad you did when it comes to interview time.

Once you start your A+ training program you'll become familiar with how to build and repair PC's and operate in antistatic conditions. Diagnostic techniques and fault finding are also on the syllabus, as is remote access.

You might also choose to consider supplementing the A+ with Network + as you can then also take care of computer networks, and become a more senior IT professional.

You should look for accredited simulation materials and an exam preparation system as part of your training package.

Some students can get confused by trying to prepare themselves with questions that don't come from authorised sources. Quite often, the way questions are phrased is unfamiliar and you need to be ready for this.

Always request some practice exams so you'll be able to test your knowledge whenever you need to. Mock exams log the information in your brain - then the real thing isn't quite as scary.

Students will sometimes miss checking on a vitally important element - how their company segments the courseware elements, and into how many parts.

Often, you will purchase a course staged over 2 or 3 years and get sent one module each time you pass an exam. This sounds logical on one level, until you consider this:

How would they react if you didn't complete every module at the required speed? Often the prescribed exam order doesn't work as well as another different route may.

The ideal circumstances are to get all the training materials delivered to your address right at the beginning; the entire package! Then, nothing can hinder your progress.

Be careful that the certifications you're considering doing will be commercially viable and are the most recent versions. The 'in-house' certifications provided by many companies are often meaningless.

All the major IT organisations such as Microsoft, Adobe, CompTIA or Cisco all have widely renowned proficiency courses. Major-league companies like these will ensure your employability.

Consider the facts below and pay great regard to them if you think that old marketing ploy of examination guarantees seems like a good idea:

They've allowed costings for it one way or another. It certainly isn't free - they've just worked it into the package price.

Should you seriously need to pass in one, evidence suggests you must fund each exam as you take it, focus on it intently and give the task sufficient application.

Does it really add up to pay the training course provider at the start of the course for examination fees? Hold on to your money and pay for the exam at the time, don't pay mark-ups - and do it locally - not at somewhere of their bidding.

A lot of so-called credible training colleges make huge amounts of money because they're getting paid for exam fees early then hoping either that you won't take them, or it will be a long time before you do.

It's also worth noting that you should consider what an 'exam guarantee' really means. The majority of companies won't pay again for an exam until you have demonstrated conclusively that you won't fail again.

Prometric and VUE exams are currently clocking in at an average of 112 pounds in the UK. Why pay exorbitant 'Exam Guarantee' fees (often hidden in the cost) - when the best course materials, the right level of support and a commitment to studying and the use of authorised exam preparation tools are actually the key to your success. - 29852
