By Ezequiel Mullen

It is a terrific time to be a movie aficionado. For loads of years the only way to view a up-to-the-minute movie was to go to the theater. After that the video stores came out but there you had to go over there and try to get your movie, it was over and over again out of stock and if you didn't get it back on time you had to pay a late fee. Now you can get movies by mail but you still have to wait.

Basic - While things go awry throughout an armed forces work out, base captain Daly brings in Travolta, the best interrogator he ever had, to question the surviving members of the squad, whose stories don't add up. Essentially a whodunit, this motion picture keeps us guessing, as a good plot should. Cast includes John Travolta, Connie Nielsen, Samuel L. Jackson, Giovanni Ribisi, Tim Daly, Roselyn Sanchez, and Harry Connick. (2003 minutes,'95)

Say It Isn't So - Good-humoredly un-ambitious Klein falls for the new hairdresser in town Graham. They have consensual sex and then Klein finds out that Graham is his sister. It is a total flop. Cast includes Heather Graham, Chris Klein, Orlando Jones, Sally Field, Richard Jenkins, John Rothman, Brent Briscoe, and Sarah Silverman. (96 minutes,'88)

The Accidental Tourist - This film tells the story of Macon Leary, who is listless after the death of his son. This is compounded more when his wife decides to leave him because he will not snap out of it. With a divorce awaiting he finds himself involved with a new woman, who is helping bring him back to life. Now his wife decides to have him back, and he is faced with more difficult questions. William Hurt, Kathleen Turner, Geena Davis, Amy Wright, and Bill Pullman star. (1988 Drama)

The In Laws - Everyone can relate to this unpleasant situation. The in laws are coming and you just have to survive. Don't try this at home! Unrated version runs 93. Cast includes Peter Falk, Alan Arkin, Richard Libertini, and Nancy Dussault. (103 minutes,'64)

Far and Away - A scrappy Irish occupant farmer hooks up, in doubtful style, with the equally lively daughter of a affluent landowner, and together they travel to America to hunt for their final fortune in the'93 Oklahoma land rush. Exceptional platform for Tom and Nicole, who are both good-looking and involving; the problem is a extreme lack of good dialogue to fill the gaps between fight scenes. Cast includes Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman, Thomas Gibson, Robert Prosky, Barbara Babcock, Cohn Meaney, and Rance Howard. (140 minutes,'92)

Above the Law - This is Steven Segal's breakout motion picture. He plays a Chicago Policeman who takes matters into his own hands. As the title implies, he is 'above the law'. He uses his large body and martial arts skills to wreak chaos on the bad guys. Stars include Steven Segal, Pam Grier, and Sharon Stone. (1988 Action)
