LCD HD TVs have by far been the popular choice for some time. Its qualities include they are smaller, weigh less than plasmas, can display bright images, better range of sizes and because of their popularity have become the best value. They are maybe not as effective at displaying fast moving images and dark blacks.

LED TVs are the newest technology to enter the market. Because of their recent introduction to our stores they are still more expensive than standard LCD TVs. However they do have attractive qualities over LCD televisions and with time the prices will come down. The advantages of LED televisions are, brighter images, deeper blacks, reduced power consumption and improved life-spans.

OLED and 3D televisions are something you may be starting to become aware of. Neither can be realistically considered as option when purchasing a new television as there are only limited options out there. They are however sure to be making a big impact in the future.
